IPL PhotoFacial is an effective procedure for the treatment of rosacea, facial redness, spider veins, broken capillaries, sun spots, age spots, brown spots, uneven skin tone, acne scars, and wrinkles and fine lines. Is IPL PhotoFacial safe?

IPL PhotoFacial is a safe and very effective treatment for various skin conditions. As with any cosmetic procedure, there are some risks that should be considered before consenting to treatment. Purpura, swelling, redness, scarring, blistering, secondary infection, and changes in skin pigmentation are possible risks. The most common side-effect of IPL treatment is the lightening or darkening of the skin in the treated area which may take several months to fully resolve. Unprotected sun exposure or tanning in the weeks before and after treatment will increase your risk of changes in skin color.

How many IPL treatments are needed?

You will see results with each IPL treatment. Multiple treatments are usually needed for optimum results. Typically three (3) to six (6) treatments are required, but additional treatments may be needed in some cases. Treatments are normally performed at four (4) week intervals.
